I saw these in a magazine a while back and thought they would look perfect with my burlap curtains! But where would I find them, and how much was I willing to spend??
Instead of spending all of my time and money looking for these, I decided I could probably make them. I think this one was a win! And I can say- over a year later, not one has failed or come apart!

Here’s how I did it: (dog not required, but generally helpful!)
-First I found the hardware and rope at Menards. For this project I needed a lag thread screw eye to screw into the wall and a swivel spring snap hook.
Optional: I spray painted the metal the color I wanted using a spray paint designed for metals. Color: oil rubbed bronze
-Next I measured how much it would take to wrap the curtain from front to back and doubled that with the larger rope.
-Using hot glue to seal, I folded the ends together and held them in place. This made a continuous rope circle with the thicker rope. I covered the hot glue seam with the darker, smaller rope by wrapping it around many times and sealing with hot glue. Done!
You can attach the tie backs to the wall or window frame by screwing in the screw eye.
TA-DA!
